While producing my PSA, I put my Photoshop skills to work. I used many tools including the magnetic lasso and the eraser tool, as well as the overlay effect. I had to split the face of a dog and the face of my friend Tycho and combine them as one. This took several tries, as I had to re-size the images to align them with each other. I had to try many different effects before choosing overlay to create a bruised look. I also tried several different fonts before choosing the best one to grab viewer's attention. I am very happy with the final product, as I put a lot of work into in to it and had to make several edits.
I have researched all of my chosen topics, and I think I will make my poster on the dangers of texting and driving. I chose this topic because it is a serious issue for teenagers, as teens sometimes place so much importance on their phones that they forget what is actually happening in the world around them . This is how tragic accidents occur. Many high school students are avid texters, so this is a very relatable topic for my target audience. I have planned to use an image of a driver texting, with a pedestrian about to be hit in the background. I will use a quote that really puts the dangers of texting and driving in perspective, and leaves a strong impact.
For my PSA topics, I chose animal abuse, shoplifting, nutrition, and texting and driving. I chose these topics because they are fairly easy to relate to the lives of many high school students, which would help leave an impact on my viewers. These are common problems in today's society, therefore, there are several things I could say to connect with the viewers of my PSA
What is the persistence of vision? Persistence of vision refers to the optical illusion whereby multiple discrete images blend into a single image in the human mind and believed to be the explanation for motion perception in cinema and animated films. This means that when several images are put together and viewed quickly, an illusion is created to the human eye, causing us to see one, moving image. this is used mainly in movies.
How did your fakebook person influence animation/film? Thomas Edison had a major impact on animation and film. as the inventor of the lightbulb, Edison is given credit for providing light to film productions, which enabled directors to use strategic lighting to emphasize aspects of films and allowed productions to be filmed anywhere, anytime. With Edison's combined inventions of the kinetoscope and phonograph, Edison created motion picture. These began as short films which only one person could view at a time via the kinetoscope, but soon evolved into much more, which we now know as movies. Thomas Edison changed the world, and his inventions are still some of the most popular parts of society today.
How will your main image portray the time period you have chosen?
The 1960's was an era based on equality, rock n' roll, and peace. The images I have chosen were the biggest icons of these three main themes. What are the research notes you have found that have helped you choose different images? In my research I learned many things about the 1960's. This information showed that rock n' roll, equality, and peace were major aspects of this time period. Musicians such as Elvis and The Beatles were taking the music industry by storm. The civil rights act was put into place thanks to activists such as Martin Luther King Jr. The first moon landing was made, and the Berlin Wall was built. Hippies and miniskirts were trendy, and the first issue of Rolling Stones was published. Post 3 Main images that COULD be your "bigger picture" image to show Ms. Carroll & explain your reasoning. Film and digital media are connected in many ways. Digital technology such as cameras, video graphics, and visual reality are used to create both. Different forms of digital art appear in film, such as animations, digital paintings, and Photoshop. Digital media enhances film and makes them more visually appealing.
While creating these images on illustrator, I did not find the differences between illustrator and Photoshop very noticeable. Illustrator, like Photoshop, has a wide variety of tools and editing options. In my opinion, illustrator is an easier program to use, as the tools were more obvious and easier to use. I also found more options on illustrator, which made the process of creating my images more efficient.
Differences Between Photoshop & Illustrator
Photoshop: Illustrator: Used for pixel-based graphics Used for vector-based graphics Single canvas Multiple art boards Zoom blurry and messy Zoom sharp and clear Layers contain single object Layers contain multiple objects popular choice for web graphics, photo editing and designs Often used for creating logos Can work within work space Can work outside workplace Area selection Object selection Discussion Post: Though there are many differences between the two programs, Photoshop and Illustrator are alike in many ways. Some say that Illustrator takes the abilities of Photoshop to the next level, but in reality, both programs are made better when used with the other. Each program has many uses for the digital photographer and graphic designer, and both are equally useful when it comes to creating the best and most sophisticated images. |
